ממשלת הודו אשרה את מימון מערכת GAGAN

ממשלת הודו אישרה את המימון למערכת העזר לניווט לוויני המקורית של הודו המכונה GAGAN - Geo Augmented Navigation בעלות של 169 מליון דולרים. ועדת הכלכלה של הפרלמנט ההודי אישה את מימון הפרוייקט כולל מימון קודם לשלב הניסוי שקדם לו.

שר התעופה שלה ודו אמר, שמערכת GAGAN system תופעל בשנת 2011 ותהפוך את התעופה בהודו להרבה יותר בטוחה . הפרוייקט מפותח בשיתוף פעולה בין סוכנות החלל ההודית ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation ורשות שדות התעופה שלה הודו.

מערכת GAGAN מיועדת לנטר אותות שגויים המתקבלים מלוויני GPS וליצור הודעות תיקון על מנת לשפר את דיוק המיקום למשתמשים בה . הודו מתכוונת להשתמש במערכת GAGAN לנהול התעופה האוירית בתחומה.




India Approves GAGAN System Funding

The Indian government has approved funding to implement its satellite-based augmentation system for navigation, the GPS-aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) project, setting aside approximately $169 million.

The Indian Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the funding for the project, including funds already spent on a demonstration phase, in its meeting September 11.

Indian Aviation Minister said the GAGAN system would be in place by 2011, making flying much safer than at present . The project is being developed jointly by the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Airports Authority of India.

GAGAN is designed to monitor GPS satellite signals for errors and then generate correction messages to improve positioning accuracy for users. India plans to use GAGAN for civil aviation managem.
