נורבגיה בחרה בתקן DMB לשידורי טלוויזיה ניידת . תקן זה פותח בדרום קוריאה על בסיס תקן DAB הותיק ( שנועד לשידורי רדיו דיגיטאליים קרקעיים) ומופעל שם בהצלחה רבה מזה יותר משנתיים וחצי . . מתחרהו העיקרי של DMB באירופה ה הוא תקן DVB-H שקודם באופן מסיבי על ידי חברת Nokia ונתמך והומלץ לאימוץ בקרב מדינות הקהילה האירופית על ידי המועצה האירופית .
תאגיד של שלות גופי השידור הגדולים ביותר בנורבגיה- NRK הציבורי ו TV2 ו MTG המסחריים מתכננים להשיק שירות שיכלול 8 ערוצי טלוויזיה , שירותים אינטראקטיביים ושירותים נילווים . השירות יופעל לקראת החורף הבא.

Norway goes DMB

Norway will adopt the DMB standard for mobile TV serices. DMB was developed in South Korea ( where its is has been implemebted successfully almost 3 years ago ) which is based on the DAB standard . Its main rival in Europe is the DVB-H the mobile TV standard promoted heavily by Nokia and endoreded by the European Commission .
A consortium comprising three of Norway's largest broadcasters, namely public broadcaster NRK and commercial broadcasters TV2 and MTG are planning a service that will offer 8 channel multiplex, on demand content and related services that will be launched next winter .
