העיתון וול סטריר ג'ורנל מדווח, שחברת News Corp עשויה להגיש הצעות לרכישת השליטה בחבילת הלווין הגרמנית Premiere וחבילת הלווין הספרדית +Digital בצעד שיאפשר לג'ון מרדוק, בנו של רופרט מרדוק שהוא בעל השליטה בחברה לקבל אחריות על הפעילות המורחבת של החברה באירופה.

במהלך ששת החודשים האחרונים רכשה News Corp כ 25.01% מהמניות של Premiere וכעת היא שוקלת לרכוש את השליטה החברה.

News Corp may bid on Premiere, Digital+: report

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, that News Corp may bid for two major pay-TV players, Germany's Premiere and Spain's Digital+, in a move that could give more responsibility to James Murdoch, son of Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch.

Over the past six months, News Corp -- which owns the Journal -- has built a 25.01 percent stake in Munich-based Premiere and is considering making an offer for the whole company, the Journal reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Spanish media conglomerate Prisa is considering selling its Digital+ which operates a satellite pay TV package.
