הלווין StarOne C2 נכנס לשירות פעיל

הלווין יחזק את עמדתה של חברת Star One כמפעיל לווינים ממשעותי בשוק הדרום אמריקאי.
חברת Thales Alenia Space העבירה לפני ימים אחדים את השליטה המלאה על לווין התקשורת Star One C2 לידי החברה המזמינה Star One. הלווין , הממוקם ב 70 מעלות מערב , תוכנן ונבנה על ידי חברת Thales Alenia Space וכולל עשרים ושמונה משיבים ב C-band, ששה עשר משיבים ב in Ku-band וממספר לא ידוע של משיבים לשימוש צבאי ב X-band

Star One C2 הוא בבעלות חברת הלווינים הברזילאית Star One , שהיא חברה בבבעלות חברת התקשורת המקומית Embratel (80%) וחברת GE International Holdings (20%).

Thales Alenia Space גם בנתה ותכננה עבור Star One את הלווין הקודם שלה Star One C1, הראשון בסידרת “C” ששוגר בנובמבר 2007 . הלווין החדש Star One C2 כולל מערכות טכנולוגיות מתקדמות המאפשרות הפצת ערוצי טלוויזיה , אינטרנט ושירותי קול לדרום אמריקה, מכסיקו ופלורידה באמצעות מטען משולב של משיבים ב C--band וב Ku-band .

Star One C2 satellite operational in orbit

This satellite will reinforce Star One’s strategic position as the major regional operator in Latin America. Following the Final Acceptance Review (FAR) successfully held on May, the control of Star One C2 telecommunication satellite has been transferred to Star One and is now operational in geostationary orbit at 70° West. This satellite, designed and built by Thales Alenia Space, is equipped with 28 transponders in C-band, 16 in Ku-band as well as an X-band payload for military exclusive use.

Star One C2 is dedicated to the Brazilian satellite operator Star One, owned by Embratel (80%) and GE International Holdings (20%). This satellite will reinforce Star One’s strategic position as the major regional operator in Latin America.

Thales Alenia Space has already manufactured Star One C1, the first of the “C-series”, which was successfully launched in November 2007 and started to expand the operator’s scope of services. The new satellite Star One C2 features a cutting-edge commercial payload that will provide TV, Internet and voice services for South America, Mexico and Florida, through its hybrid C- and Ku-band payload.
